Position Overview

The LNG System Design Engineer is responsible for process and piping system design of LNG Cargo Handling Systems (including Regasification Systems and FGSS) for FSRU conversion and offshore projects. This role covers the full scope of LNG system engineering, from process design and analysis to procedure development and coordination with Owners and Classification Societies for approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform process design for LNG Cargo Handling Systems, including Regasification Systems and FGSS
• Prepare and review Heat & Material Balance, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
• Conduct piping and process calculations, including pipe sizing, thickness calculations, relief valve sizing, and hydraulic calculations
• Prepare design deliverables such as Valve, Instrument, Pipeline, and Equipment Lists
• Perform LNG system analyses, including BOG management, surge analysis, and temperature excursion analysis
• Participate in risk assessment activities and workshops such as HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, and SIL
• Prepare procedures for pressure testing, cold testing, commissioning, and system testing
• Develop system summaries including utility consumption and relief load calculations
• Prepare Operating & Maintenance Manuals for LNG systems
• Perform piping stress analysis for LNG and related piping systems
• Review vendor document packages and respond to technical queries
• Prepare and submit engineering deliverables for Owner and Classification Society approval and participate in technical meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of cryogenic LNG system design with relevant hands-on experience
• Proven capability in LNG process and piping system design
• Solid understanding of international standards and Classification Society rules
• Proficiency in English for technical documentation and business communication
