Position Overview

The ER Machinery System Design Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of machinery and related piping systems within the Engine Room for FSRU conversion and offshore projects. This role covers the full scope of machinery system engineering, including piping layout, system calculations, procedure development, vendor coordination, and engagement with Owners and Classification Societies for design approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design of ER Machinery Systems and Machinery Piping Systems for FSRU conversion and offshore projects
• Prepare Heat & Material Balance based on machinery system requirements
• Develop Machinery Piping Diagrams and equipment/piping arrangement drawings
• Perform piping-related calculations, including pipe sizing, thickness calculations, relief valve sizing, and hydraulic calculations
• Prepare design deliverables such as Valve, Instrument, Pipeline, and Equipment Lists
• Prepare procedures for pressure testing, cold testing, and commissioning of machinery systems
• Develop system summaries including utility consumption and relief load calculations
• Prepare Operating & Maintenance Manuals for machinery systems
• Review Hull Piping System designs and perform related engineering calculations
• Review vendor technical documents and conduct technical clarifications and coordination
• Prepare and submit engineering deliverables for Owner and Classification Society approval and participate in technical meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in machinery and piping system design
• Solid understanding of offshore or marine facilities and Engine Room systems
• Strong capability in preparing engineering drawings and calculation documents
• Proficiency in English for technical documentation and professional communication
